Milo
“Milo is our Shepherd Mix dog that soon became reactive once he reached adolescence. Milo would bark and lunge at people and dogs while out on walks which caused us lots of anxiety. Nikki taught us that what appeared as aggression, was actually Milo’s fearful response to an unknown world. She patiently worked with us to understand Milo’s triggers and help him overcome them with positive reinforcement and other desensitizing methods. We learned that what we did on the other end of the leash had a big influence on how he would react to certain situations. I can happily say that with Nikki’s help, Milo has developed into a confident, sweet and well-mannered dog and we’ve learned how to provide a secure environment that nurtures and fosters his good behavior.”

Whiskey
"Not all trainers are created equal. When we first brought home our beloved “Whiskey” we worked with a couple different trainers looking for the right fit. Both we tried in the beginning were good. But what we found in Nikki, was greatness. Nikki has a high level of professionalism, talent and instinct in working with young pups. We have referred Nikki to many neighbors and friends and they all adore her. She has helped and continues to help us nurture young Whiskey into being the best dog we have ever had. He receives constant compliments when out and about as to how well mannered he is. She is phenomenal, and Whiskey is obsessed with her and so are we.”

Tucker
“Let me preface by saying, I’m one of those who rarely, if ever, writes a review, unless I feel strongly one way or another. To that end, Nikki is a miracle worker. I have a 100 lb shepherd mix who is a “good boy.” One of the most intelligent dogs I have ever known. My only complaint was he was VERY reactive. People always thought he was aggressive. I was so fortunate to find Nikki. With her training/guidance and positive attitude I have a new dog. I can now take him anywhere and not worry about his reaction. Now, when he sees something he used to react to, he either looks at me or ignores the distraction. His worst enemy was a garbage truck. Now we can walk next to one and he ignores it. It didn’t happen over night, but with patience and time we reached our goal. I firmly believe you get what you pay for. She was worth every penny. Thank you Nikki.”

Elka
“Nikki is an amazing, intuitive trainer; my dog Elka loves her! Prior to working with Nikki I had used traditional training methods, but Elka did not respond well. Nikki showed me a better way and taught us the power of positive reinforcement based training. She gave me tools, knowledge and skills to help Elka become a confident, well-behaved and well-socialized dog. I am forever grateful for her patient and knowledgable coaching. I would highly recommend Nikki to anyone needing help with their dogs!”

Danny
“Nikki was a wonderful trainer for our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Danny. She is highly skilled, patient, and totally loves dogs! Most important, she focuses on desired behaviors and trains the dog AND the OWNERS to achieve results. She took the time to fully understand our areas of concern regarding Danny’s behaviors then gave us a plan to address it. At the beginning of each session, she would adjust our training plan as needed. We unreservedly recommend Nikki to anyone looking for a Dog Trainer.”

Henry
“Working with Nikki was the best decision we made, second only to deciding to rescue our puppy, Henry. As a first time dog owner, I had no idea where to start with our reactive pup. Nikki has been patient, knowledgeable and kind. She took the time to explain the “why” behind Henry’s behavior, which was incredibly helpful. After working with and learning from Nikki, we are able to enjoy going on walks, sitting at coffee shops and having guests over. I couldn’t have dreamed of this a year ago! I would recommend Nikki to anyone wanting to improve their relationship with their furry companion.”

Kirby & Quigley
“I have 2 Golden Retrievers (the “Boys”) ages 10 and 7 years old. After being victims to 3 different dog attacks, my Goldens became reactive towards other dogs. The unfortunate situations left me no choice but to isolate my dogs and no longer enjoy any exercise or meaningful life outside of the house and backyard. Their world became very small; no exercise or day trips to parks, hiking trails or beaches, really nowhere because I had no safe place to go that I could be confident no other dogs would be around. I was emotionally broken to the point where I would often cry because I felt helpless.
I met Nikki Montague and haven’t looked back. Now, I am learning so much from Nikki with every training session, and the boys and I are building more confidence.
Nikki’s training approach is always positive reinforcement; no punishment or aggressive techniques are practiced. There is no cruel or abusive equipment used on the dogs for corrections. Nikki is a great listener, she communicates clearly and she provides invaluable guidance to stay on track so we can build socialization skills and help the boys and me feel comfortable when we see other dogs in the environment.
I see the transformation in my Goldens and how they are super responsive to learning. It’s a joy to watch my Goldens have new experiences on walks at parks, outside malls, indoor stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s. It’s no longer a scene with a reaction when the Boys see another dog nearby; instead they casually glance and move on or are able to redirect their attention onto me. She has taught me fundamental techniques and provides instructions in a relatable way that makes sense in the real world. With Nikki’s expertise, dedication and patience, I have all the tools for success.
I’m thrilled about the progress we have made over the months working with Nikki. It’s a process that continues to unfold but the benefits are having a profound effect on my well-being and the Boys. It’s a commitment to practice the lessons on my own between the training sessions with Nikki, but it’s time well invested knowing there is a promising future to enjoy spending quality time with my fur babies.
Training the Boys with Nikki is life changing and I am forever grateful that she is on this journey with us. I no longer dwell on the challenges of the past; instead, I have hope and promise for a bright future fulfilled with happiness every moment I spend with the boys. I have deep respect for Nikki and feel truly blessed my fur babies can live their best lives.”

Chunk
“Nikki is a life saver for my wife and I, and our dog Chunk (155 lb Leonberger male). My wife and I were at our wits end with Chunk. He was very reactive when it came to other dogs, and people. Nikki not only helped Chunk, but as important helped us in working with Chunk. Today, I can walk him in open spaces, and control him. He's happier and I'm happier. Thank you Nikki!"

“So fun to see my frightened little rescue gain confidence to meet new people and try new things. He is now a happy little dog. Thanks Nikki!”

Romeo
“Being able to work with Nikki was amazing and so helpful. When I got my first puppy, Romeo, I had no idea where to start. I knew that it was important for him to get trained but I didn’t think I had the knowledge to do it. My parents and I met Nikki through friends who had used her services. Romeo learned so much from her, like basic manners and in time advanced tricks. He learned to socialize with other dogs and not be afraid of things around the house.
Not only did Romeo learn from Nikki but I did too. I learned how to read a dog’s body language and how to teach them new tricks. Nowadays, I give advice to friends and family from the many things I learned from Nikki. It was so much fun to work with her. She is so nice, smart, and amazing. Romeo and I were always so happy to see her, especially Romeo. To this day, she still helps us with Romeo.”
