My Mission: Helping dogs and their humans live together in harmony. It’s all about education: teaching owners how to better understand their dogs, reinforce desirable behavior, and set up the environment to help dogs make good choices. The result is well-behaved dogs and a happier, more fulfilled life for both people and their dogs. I take my role very seriously, to strengthen and educate the dog & owner team.
The Journey to a Happy,
Well-Behaved Dog:
The following is offered in both in-person and virtual formats.
Step 1: Initial Consultation
During this 75- to 90-minute session, I will meet you and your dog and learn more about your training goals. I will observe behavior, discuss developing behavior patterns, and work with your dog. I will discuss some training and management recommendations you can implement even before our next training session.
Step 2: Specialized Courses
-
This course is all about setting a solid foundation of skills to start your puppy off on the right track. My goal is to help your puppy grow into a well-mannered, absolute pleasure to live with for years to come.
Bringing a new puppy home is a big responsibility. I will be there with you through the entire process: setting up proper management and daily routines to help with potty training, keeping your puppy (and home) safe, and ensuring your puppy gets ample rest. We will discuss proper socialization with people and other animals. I will share some of the most engaging puppy toys as well as enrichment activities to occupy your puppy’s mind and help channel some of that puppy energy!
There is so much to begin training your puppy from day 1! Whether we are training virtually or in person, we will start in your home and work our way into the real world, safely introducing your puppy to all the new things they may encounter in this world, so they will grow up into a well-balanced happy dog. This includes teaching basic behaviors: sit, down, come, stay, leave-it, watch-me, polite greetings, heel, loose-leash walking as well as preventing & addressing any problem behaviors in the home, like house-soiling, counter surfing, chewing, excessive barking and door dashing.
Basic packages start with once a week sessions where I coach you, to set you up for daily practice with your dog. For busy professionals, I offer day training packages you don’t even need to be present for, although you are most welcome; I train your dog multiple sessions per week and you will only need to attend 1-hour transfer sessions once weekly to provide you with the information you’ll need to continue teaching your puppy long after the course ends.
*Puppy courses are popular and often have a waitlist. If you know you’ll be bringing home a puppy within the next few months, reach out and get on my schedule as soon as possible to ensure availability.
-
This course is all about preventing & addressing problem behaviors in the home, like house-soiling, counter surfing, chewing, digging, mouthing, excessive barking, leash pulling, door dashing and more. Whether you have a teenage dog who just needs a basic “tune-up” for a specific problem behavior or if all heck has broken loose now that your puppy has grown into a full-blown adolescent, it is my mission to help your dog learn appropriate behaviors and ensure their basic needs for physical, mental, and social stimulation are met. I will show you ways to provide enrichment for your dog during the day so that they have desirable outlets for their energy.
I will work with you and your dog in or outside of your home to address their unique behavior needs. Reinforcing basic behaviors like: sit, down, come, stay, leave-it, watch-me, polite greetings, heel, loose-leash walking in more distracting environments.
Basic once weekly sessions or day training packages are available.
